Our mission

About Our Patent Applications and our Open-Source Mission

We are a leading company in ion exchange membrane development, and we believe this technology has the potential to create an impact equal to (or even greater than) that of 3D printing. Two decades ago, the REPRAP project open-sourced its 3D printing technology, which helped spark countless industries, businesses, and opportunities for individuals, including myself. We see the future the same way: as a race to innovate and compete, not a race to lock others out with patents. We have many more ideas and innovations ahead of us, and we are only just beginning.

With years of industry experience, we have built a strong reputation for reliability, excellence, and results. We have already helped many people move closer to their goals, and our commitment to continuous learning and innovation keeps us at the forefront of this field. By educating others and encouraging them to replicate and build on our process, we hope to demonstrate that this technology is real, practical, and not “too good to be true.”

At the same time, resources and reliable information on ion exchange membrane electrolysis and its related chemistry are limited and often difficult to find. Because of that, safety, proper methodology, and sound chemical practices are essential. Being open about how to approach this work responsibly is part of our mission. Knowing the science and being able to apply it effectively are two very different things, which is why we strongly recommend reaching out to our team and booking a meeting first to ensure your project starts in the right direction

Why Patent?

Filing a patent secures an official filing date with the USPTO and helps protect the technology from bad actors and patent trolls who might otherwise try to lock it away.

Why Open Source?

By allowing other companies to adopt, integrate, and build upon this technology, we believe an entirely new industry can emerge around ion exchange membrane applications. Leading that industry through innovation, openness, and expertise is central to our long-term success.

Why Non Provisional?

A common question we hear is, “Why can’t we find your patent?” As an early-stage company, we chose to begin with a non-provisional filing so we would have room to refine, strengthen, and properly develop the application while protecting the core technology from the start. We can and plan on submitting a “early release date” so others can search our patent application. Please bear with us as we still are formalizing the company and focusing on priorities.
